Below are stock and behind the scene shots of Smile Because It Happened.

There were several obstacles to overcome in making this short film. One was that it had to be shot or “in the can“ as they say in 48 hours. Another was that Gus Mohr, who plays Walter (wearing the Army uniform), had leukemia and was undergoing treatment. Also, the plane that was in the film had mechanical issues while awaiting takeoff during a preflight check and consequently, one of the scenes had to be  written out of the script.

Since the making of this film Gus Mohr and Buttercup, the golden retriever who played Charlie’s dog, have passed.  They are truly missed.
